Sorry, I haven't posted in a while. What is a good courier to ship with? I heard that UPS and FedEx are both good...any opinions? Also, do they allow shipping of animals? Or do we have to be sneaky?
Thanks,
Chris

I ship UPS. I called our local rep, and they god me authorization to ship geckos without problem. I had to have a UPS account, fill out a quick form and they sent me a letter of authorization. It didn't cost me anything but about a week or two of waiting, and now I don't have to worry about which rep will let me and which one won't. It comes straight from corporate so no local rep can say no.

I also filled the form out and everything and then faxed it back to them, but I haven't recieved a letter of authorization yet. And it's been about two months. I figured I was turned down, but I don't why. I have just been sneaky since then, but anyways, how long did you have to wait for letter?? I should probably call them again...

I set this up quick since so many people have been asking about it, should explain the whole process.
If it's been a month and you haven't heard anything, give your rep a call. They should know if you have been approved or denied.

UPS has been dependable for me. No problems (knock on wood). You will need to get approved for shipping, you will need to open an account. Go to the shipping forum & they may be able to give you all the info you need.
in my experience, UPS is very good. FedEx is horrible. they will leave the packages at the doorstep. they do not require a signiture. i had 4 animals shipped to me on a day that was 94 degrees. over night delivery is "guaranteed" by 12:30pm. the package came at 3:00pm. the delivery guy rang the door bell, set the package down, and drove off. had i not heard the door bell and been keeping a watch out for the delivery (2.5 hours late mind you) it is hard telling how long the package would have spent sitting in the sun.
UPS requires a signiture.
