my snake thinks he's a dog

just woundering if that was something any one has seen from there ball pythons. hes always in the open and drinks from his water rather than soaking in it. at least that i have seen.

My snakes also drink from the dish. I have only seen snakes soak in the dish for 3 reasons...1) dehydration, 2) mites, 3) cage is too hot. Obviously none of these are good. My snakes also hang out at night in the "open" part of their cage. I would guess your snake is doing normal snake things. If he fetches your slippers get a picture!!!!

I have one that soaks before a shed, and one that never soaks and always has a good shed; then I have another one that would soak all day long, every day if I left a dish in there big enough! I have seen all of my snakes drink from their water dish at various times - it's kinda cool to see!

If yours wags his tail when you get home, get a pic of that, too!
