I have been thinking about acquiring a Female Hogg somewhere at 3 foot or better. For some reason I am having a really hard time. Are these boas not bred as much anymore or are people unwilling to part with yearlings or better?

These awesome looking snakes are just so beautiful and docile (and small- 6 ft or less mostly) that I can't see why anyone would want to get rid of an adult. They grow fast, just get a nice looking baby and you'll be thrilled!

... there are breeder who rather cross them with other crossbreed boas instead of breeding them pure.
This leads to a subsiding supply of true Hog Island boas.
The problem is that one needs a permit to sell shoe-laces but everybody is allowed to breed boas.

... produce Hog Island Boas this year.
My large female absorbed the eggs the second time in a row.
I will use a different male for her this year. I was lucky to get a three year old male recently. Enclosed a photo.

She is a yearling now. I don't have any recent pictures of her, so maybe I'll find the time to snap a few shots this weekend.
