*help* Leo's Eye Swollen Shut!!!

Tankchick Jun 16, 2004 09:45 AM

Hi I have a 3 year old Leo named stewie. We just moved this past weekend. I just put a new moisture hide for him w/ peat moss (the sphagnum stuff.) He hasn't been eating, all the stress of the move, for a couple days now. He did try going after a cricket the other day though. So I come home yesterday to say hi and notice his eye is shut. And then i look closer and it looks a little swollen. Is it a vitamin A defiencey? Stress? He's on a Calcium- sand substrate. maybe some of that got in his eye? Help should i take him to a VET? please any info would be helpful!!

Take him/her to a vet ASAP. The leo needs to get the eye opened and checked out so he can calm down and resume eating. Let us know what the vet says.

Vet said a vitamin a deficency, I gave him king worms and crickets last night and he ate like a piggy! So i htink he's feeling better. I have to give him vitamin drops directly in his mouth for a week. Also the Vet said the problem could be the fact we had painted the room he is in a couple weeks ago. He being sensitive to it. I'll update you all on the progress! Thanks for the help!
