Brazilian rainbow litter... 29 babies!..........

survey33 Jun 16, 2004 11:05 AM

My 7 year old, 6 foot plus BRB produced a litter of 29 babies this morning. I didn't see any slugs but she may have already eaten them as I missed the birth by a couple of hours (sometime between midnight and 0700).

All look perfectly healthy and I'm thrilled about them. She had 23 last year.

Bred many times between November 03 and the first week or so of January 04. Last fed on January 18th, last shed on May 20th.

Thanks for looking, Dave

and another pic after collecting the babies. The mother didn't protest at all as I moved her to another cage. Thanks for looking, Dave

Each is set up individually in a shoe box rack with cypress mulch. Once they shed in a few more days I'll offer them frozen/thawed as their first meal. Thanks, Dave

Congrats! I'm still waiting on my het for "calicos". They were huge, basking, rolling upside down and showing all signs of going for me this year. Now they are looking kind of normal again??? They are 4 year olds so I thought they were going to go for sure this year. The wait is driving me nuts!
