Well after seeing yalls stunning pictures, I've decided on getting an Okeetee Jan. 24 @ the reptile show in La. I've probably owned 20 morphs or cornsnakes, but never an Okeetee. Right now it's my favorite type, just beacause of it's sheer beauty. Now I just need your help one more time!

1) How can I tell the difference between an BABY normal corn, and Okeetee corn? I don't want to be gyped!!

2) What qualities should I look for in this baby ( to give me the brightest , most colorful adult possible )

3) How big do they normally get, the internet says theyir the biggest of the wild caught corns, but did captive breeding reduce their size?

4) Okay same as #1 , PLEASE PLEASE , gimme some tips on distenguishing between a normal corn and Okeetee.

5) Any tips one taking care of MY NEW OKEETEE WHEN I GET HER IN A WEEK!!!!!!!

it is the best indicator for okeetee corns (as to how the babies will turn out as adults.....I just typed a whole bunch of other tips and I hit the back button so it erased my lengthy reply...I'll post more later but checking out the parents is the best way to go. contact some breeders before the show and see if they can send you pics. Private/Personal breeders are usually proud to send you pics of the parents. GOOD LUCK!
(okee's are my favorite too)

Okeetees are a normal phase corn by the way. okeetee is just a county that the ORIGINAL line was collected in South Carolina. As with most snakes locality plays a part in color diffrernces. Ask for paperwork that the parents or grandparents were collected from okeetee county. they get the same size as all other corns and you care for them the same as the rest. okeetee is just a locality! but to please the eyes these snakes have a color that we all hope and shoot for as herpers.

hi,just a quick correction from an Okeetee veteran(1969).okeetee is not a county, but rather the name of a hunt club that happens to be on what was a gorgeous antebellum plantation.the county that the okeetee hunt club is in is jasper county,s. carolina. just wanted to clear the small matter up.howie
