Just thought I'd share some pics that I took of Beardie (yes, I know, not a very original name)

Enjoy!

Nice pics. If you turn of your basking light before snapping the pics you'll get rid of that orange look to the photos.

it looks like the desert blend walnut shells. if it is, or worse if its repti or calci sand, i would recommend switching over to normal Home Depot playsand immediately.
the reptile substrates are much more likely (ironically) to cause impaction or other complications.

0.1 Bearded Dragon (Fuego, spent the last 10 months thinking she was a he!)
2.1 Roommates (require more cleaning up after than the dragon)

This is the only substrate that Beardie doesn't eat in leaps and bounds..

A couple of years ago we had her in a beautiful setup with sand and rocks, and one day she just started trying to eat the rocks, she was eating the sand in gulps and her mouth was getting all cut up from trying to eat the huge rocks in her tank.

This substrate is the only substrate that she doesn't eat. She even eats newspaper and she'll spend all day biting at turf. We've tried every other substrate imaginable including bark pieces, peat moss and sand mixture, you name it.

She's a bit of a freak beardie. I mean, we feed her often, she eats like a piggy.

Anyway, the nutshell bedding again, is the only stuff that she doesn't eat.

Any other suggestions are more than welcome!

from your local Walmart or similar store. It's easy to clean and is considered, at this point, to be a problem free substrate. I just know you're playing russian roulette with your beardie having him on that stuff.
