how much time?

tyrel Jun 16, 2004 02:23 PM

I bought my first leopard gecko two days ago, and i am wondering, how much time does the average gecko spent in its hide? I have not seen mine come out by its self, and im wondering if she can get out of this hide. its one of those magnetic rocks,(medium size) that have one part on the outside of the glass so you can remove it to check on you herp.

Have you peeked in at night to see if it is moving around? If she is new, she is still trying to acclimate to her new place. Also be aware of the temps in the enclosure.

Yes Leos are nocturnal. They come out at night. Mine come out in late afternoon.

I didn't see her for months in the winter, she was always in her cave. But since summer is here, and temp are higher, she get out of her cave more often, and hang out on the cool side of the tank.

Does your leos are more often out in summer time ?
