Spraying back of viv...how do I make it safe (non-toxic)?

geckoman_nl Jun 16, 2004 02:56 PM

Hello,
I am building some wooden vivariums where I am using white plywood backing for it as it is cheaper and lighter than the melamime. I am planing on spraying it with some fleckstone spray paint....what do I need to do to make sure it is non-toxic?
And what do I do to make it so the heat doesnt make any toxic things?

Sorry I do not speak very english well.

You might want to use something other than paint. You could just "paint" a thin layer of grout of the plywood to make it look like rock & seal it with grout sealer. If you do go with paint you might be able to get some sort of epoxy spray to cover it ...Chris Harper would be the best to answer this I think. By the way, I saw this same post on the gecko forum, sometimes people don't answer right away because the question may have already been asked. Did you use the search function on the tool bar? Try it, you might get the answer you need.
