Re-Freezing.....

savvgawd Jun 16, 2004 04:56 PM

If you defrost a f/t prey item and the animal doesnt eat it, can you re-freeze it? I ask because I'm trying to get my male 10footer to gain some weight(came as an adoption) by eating rabbits. At the same time I'm trying to cut back a little on my other burms meals so I would have no other animal to give the rabbit to. The adoption is a 6 yr old male albino, at almost exactly 10 ft, but weighs in at on about 25 pounds, so he needs to fatten up.

You should be ok, depending on how long you left out the food to thaw. If its been out all day, it may not be a good idea. But if its only been out a couple of hours, i dont know any reason why it wouldnt be ok. But I wouldnt do this more than once. Some may disagree with me im sure, but I dont know anyone that will blame you for tossin it back in. Foods expensive. good luck with the adoption.
