Just wanted to see if it was still alive? I guess everybody is either out collecting or too busy with their day jobs?
We're still here Lance, bogged to my Day Job, till the Delaware Kid & I make another awesome run to West Texas next month! Would much rather be in Texas this week, than home working, but you know how those things called bills are, they just keep coming in.........JF
What are you talking about... bills? You are the land baron of Kansas. I thought you sent out the bills not paid or received them.
Hey John, give my congrats to Chris yet again. Seems likes he's done a little better then you of late. Did he use it for target practice or did you confiscate it for your own? Of course he certainly has been doing better than me. DB
What would a land/oil baron and a 6 figure accountant with "bewitched" for a wife know about bills??? Give me a fricken break!!!
Well BA, at least you got the wife part right. I don't know why you continue to put that 0 in front of my salary to make it 6 figures. If we made as much as you seem to think, we would have had our house in Alpine and left this low paying FL humid hell hole long ago. We probably have the same bills as you BA w/out the kid and the ebay ones. DB
Whatever, I ain't buyin it! The "bewitched" dinger was in reference to Samantha twitching her nose for anything she or her 6 figure income husband wanted! I win. BA
Brad, you funny man (must be said w/ Chinese accent for full effect). You obviously have lost your grasp on reality. Nancy, aka Samantha, wishes she had things as you seem to think. Once again see my earlier Alpine reference as I'm fortunate that she wants to be there as much as I. It seems to me that you are the one who gets what he wants. Once again see my earlier ebay reference.
Have you heard from Siefer this past week? DB
Hi Doug,
Well my small farm here in SE KS does keep me busy, but its only 135 acres, which makes it a farm here, NOT a ranch, lol.
Chris says "Thank You" for his snake hunting success, he did let Dad place it into the collection here. And yes Doug, he still has & LOVES his guns! But he won't shoot snakes for targets, his hunting abilitys are getting better, as I couldnt match him last year or this year. Maybe you should consider driving Juno or Loma soon, just so you will know that there are awesome snakes in places besides Brewster or Presidio counties? LOL
While your Loma/Juno suggestion certainly has merit, and there is no question that there are "awesome" snakes found there, the main reason I have not been back east since I caught 2 Juno's on my last 2 nights there in '93 is that they are found in Val Verde county. Not that Val Verde is a horrible place, it certainly has its' fascinating places & things. This Florida boy much prefers the spectacular granduer of the Bend and it's animals. Even though I rarely see the correct critter on the road, I/we prefer to vacation amongst the desert mountains in WesTex. Besides if I caught animals w/ your, I mean Chris' frequency, I would have one less thing to whine about.
We hope to have our house completed in Alpine by the end of the year. Maybe once we move there, perhaps in 2005, I will take some weekend trips over in your preferred locations. Who knows, maybe I might even make it over to your ol' w---- Langtry, since she always seems to puts out. DB
Hey Doug, Another county you might consider hunting is Hudspeth county during late July, Aug. and Sept. Especially the Huecos. Dan Johnson is not alone in his collecting treasure from there. BA
Yes, that is something I have considered as well, but I think JF's suggestion was to make it more, not less likely to find alterna. Were you referring to other successful trips to the Heucos being recent or more of distant past time frames?
I have a feeling it may take a bit of coaxing by others once we are permanently in Alpine to get me to some of the locals mentioned in this thread. Especially since all I will have to do is walk outside to potentially find what has been mostly elusive these last 9 years. Too much time will tell. At least the move/homebuilding is starting to become more than talk these days. DB
