Shedding leo, to mist or not to mist ?...that is the question !

Mizar 21 Jun 16, 2004 08:44 PM

My Leo refuse to eat last night...i was a little worried, but tonight he's kinda white ! So he will probably shed very soon. I have a little problem...when he's about to shed, i usually wet the rags that are in his humid hide. The problem is that a few days ago i try to remove these rags to change them for something more natural like a mix of coconut bark and some moss. He dont like that at all ! He goes in his hide just to come out and never go back in ... so i replace his old rags. He still dont go in his humid hide...He's stubborn, lol. Now he's about to shed with no humid hide...should i try to mist just a little bit the enclosure ? so the humidity will climb a bit ? Is the humidity with the colder night temp will make him sick ? I know that he can shed without a humid hide.

About a 1 to 1.5 inch layer of moist peat moss. You can buy a big bag of it at Home Depot for $3. My leos choose the peat moss over paper towels.
