Question for you breeders out there.

reptichik Jun 16, 2004 09:23 PM

Ok, you may not be able to answer this, but I will give it a shot anyways. I have a female that was sold to me on this site about a year ago as a sunburst x red. My question is, what cross does the sunburst come from? i.e. orange x yellow red desert, or something like that, or is it basically just considered a color morph all it's own? I know the red is a color morph. I know this might sound silly, but I cannot seem to reach the breeder, I haven't seen her selling lately, and of course I don't have her email anymore. My dragon is doing fine, and is absolutely beautiful (she is varying shades of bright orange and red to sometimes even a stunning yellow color), but I want to know what genes she may be carrying. I also have a male german giant/orange x yellow red desert who is also a beautiful yellow and may someday wish to breed them, just not sure what to call their babies should I ever do it!

Well, I only know of two sunburst lines. One is from the Dachiu's, but I don't know that they still have it or breed it anymore. But I could be wrong.

The only other I know are the Sunbursts from Dragons Den. Kevin's animals are clearnailed so they are hypomelanistics.

Those are the only ones I know of. Someone claiming to have one may just be putting a name on a color, so its not really definate.
