Pic of Kane

paulbuck Jun 16, 2004 09:23 PM

This is Kane at 2 years (just shed). Whats interesting is I picked two out of a litter thinking they would each look like one of their parents (reddish and orangish variations). After 2 years they now have the same coloration (as babies one was dark and the other light). Kane was the lighter one with nicer crescents.
P.S.
Sorry about the big pic but this would'nt resize (at least I could'nt get it to).

You can see the difference when a picture is resized smaller. Kind of loses the luster; though Abela is not as nice as Kane. These two had the opposite temperament though now they are both typical BRB mellow.
Interesting that they both shed within hours of each other.

Beautiful snakes, Paul.

Have you ever done scale counts? It looks to me Kane has a low scale count. Just wondering.

Linda,
Well I pulled Kane out this afternoon for a scale count. What a surprisingly difficult task that is when the snake won't hold still! I ended up with a count somewhere around 48. I did take the opportunity to do a SerpWidget measurement on her; 49.7" (she was 46.0" on Oct. 31).

Very nice snakes...I'll bet that picture was taken at night! Nice white walls!...

Thanks Chris,
The color change at night is pretty cool. I remember reading somewhere where a breeder was trying to breed that out. I think it really makes them striking.
