Help with my Frilled

Burmaboy Jun 16, 2004 09:57 PM

Has anyone had any experience with what seems to be a constipated Frilled? Or impacted?
What was a vivacious female frilled 3 days ago, is all of a sudden "blah". She seems inactive, and her belly looks bloated, and she has no interest in food.
I also dont see any fecal matter on the substrate ( cypress )
She is also drinking more often, but less with each watering.
She seems constipated. Or could this be impaction?
Any ideas? Anyone? So I have something to tell the vet.I've never seen anything like this. Other husbandry issues have'nt changed, same substrate as forever, same foods ( crickets and superworms)
The only thing I have done different since I noticed a problem 2 days ago is up the nightime temps, thinking possibly I was dealing with an RI
Thanks in advance...
Bob

if you fear impaction, try putting her in a bath and see if that doesnt losen things up. Mineral oil (small amount) orally can also do the trick. If it goes on for more than a couple days, definitely see a vet. If you are not sure that is the problem, you may want to see a vet anyways.
best of luck

Thanks for the comeback. The problem seems to have resolved itself. I think from the outcome, the pig just ate too much.
After a few days of dieting, and lots of water, my dragon is back to her good old self again.
Eating like a pig...but with restraint. In other words, hand feeding.
