Yes, you can breed a Black to a Texas Ratsnake. If the Texas Ratsnake is leucistic, then you will produce a clutch of intergrades that will be 100% heterozygous (i.e.: all will carry the trait but none will express it) for the leucistic trait. If you want to breed leucistic snakes, at least start by breeding your Texas Ratsnake with another Texas Ratsnake. There is no demand for Black cross Texas intergrades and they should not be released into the wild.

Yes you can definitely breed a leucistic TX rat to a black rat. Matter of fact these crosses used to be fairly common on the classifieds, circa 1998 (or 1997?) if I remember correctly. Anyone other than me been around here long enough to remember those ads?

Ironically now you rarely see them offered. Wonder what happened to all those intergrades that were produced in the early to mid '90s??

they're now sold as either pure black rats or pure texas rats.
