PIETSCHMANNI EGG!

umop_apisdn Jun 17, 2004 10:33 AM

sorry to get everyones hopes up, but it was either infertile or undercalcified. i thought if it was undercalcified it would be very brittle, but this one was totally soft. there was plenty of yolk inside, but as i said, it was soft as jelly. can anyone help me determine if it was undercalcified or infertile? im hoping it was just infertile, because i havent seen any action between any of my spinies yet. if its undercalcified i guess im gonna need to separate the trio.

I was keeping a friend's grandis several years ago when she was in Africa for a while. The gecko, who was living by herself, laid an egg that looked like that. Just so you'd know, I am also at NCSU (rising Sophomore). I have a lineatus at a friend's house that I got at the September Raleigh show- she said that if I buy it, I could have it at her house. This works b/c I couldn't have pets in the dorms. I am glad you got the gecko's from the Raleigh show. I wasn't too impressed at the selection at the May show. BTW, I watch the TWW board but haven't signed in yet.

haha wow, thats funny...someone from t dub on kingsnake. thats awesome to know someone else has some uroplatus around here...i thought i was the only one. i just got a pair at the may show (i wasnt at all impressed with the selection either, although i was very surprised to find this pair for only $200), right after i had bought a female from russ gurley. i had a female phantasticus lay some eggs last year, the three that hatched turned into some real nice babies. unfortunately both parents have since died. do you just have a single lineatus? get some pictures! id like to know what kind of setup youve got. who are you on TWW?

I don't have a SN on t dub, just watch the boards. I went herping in Pender Co. this past April with EcoWolf and RattlerRyan. I live in the High Point area and my friend has a house in North Raleigh. She has pictus geckos, a pair of Grandis, and a henkeli. I'll email her and have her take pics. It is a straw yellow ground color in the daytime which is what made us get it. It stood out from all of the others it was in with. It gets striped at night. We had it in a 10 gallon for a while for quarantine and now we have it in a 20 gallon. We looked for a mate in May but I wasn't impressed at the way they looked for the price they were marked for.

i still find that funny. i see rattlerryan post all the time, but ive never seen him around campus or in any classes. i know a few other herpers at state, like a friend kevin who does research by catching snakes on the road at night in a SC wildlife park. i've been trying to get up with him to take one of those trips this summer (if not more), but he hasnt contacted me yet. let me know if you ever need an extra person to come along for any reptile-searching, cuz i cant find anywhere nice to go around raleigh except umstead park.
