Rhynos are laying!!!

gapnda7 Jun 19, 2003 03:43 PM

Well, we have been blessed again! My female rhyno has begun laying (5 eggs so far) for the third year now. Last year she gave us 14 eggs and the year befor 10. We'll see what happens this year. And to top it off it looks like her daughter may be gravid also. She's quite a bit smaller so I remain cautious on her progress. I thought I'd try her this year. She was not brumated so we get to see at what size and temps these guys can successfully breed at.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for the daughter. Is it safe to say the daughter was bred back to the father or is her mate unrelated to her father. Keep the forum posted on their progress. Good luck Glenn. You may have hatchlings by the time I make it down your way Glenn. LOL. Do you go to the July IRBA show in San Diego be any chance? I've never been to it.

Great job on the rhynos, Glenn. The natural history info you're providing on that species is very interesting. Keep us up to date on how they're doing. BTW, what ever happened to the albino bimac. Did she ever get gravid? Good luck with the eggs on those rhynos....TC.
