M. boeleni-So close yet so far away...

Craig-Stewart Jun 17, 2004 12:45 PM

Our female boeleni laid a clutch of 12 eggs this morning. Unfortunately, they look to be infertile. I would normally be very discouraged to see such a clutch but with this species we were ecstatic. We are just one step closer to producing this very challenging snake. I can hardly wait for this time next year.

Best regards,

Craig Stewart

That's too bad, I wish you the best of luck in the future. That snake is a knockout. Do you know of anyone else making any progress getting closer to succesfully producing offspring from a captive breeding? I know if I got the worst most obviously infertile clutch from that snake I'd be in denial and attempt to incubate them anyways..........Take it easy Tom

Great news, Snake looks nice, we hope that you have success.

To answer your question,, we have been working with the yellow banded boleans, for 5 years, and have had success documented the breeding of this python 7 times,in a controlled enviroment,

We have been in the same situation that you are in before, it is only a matter of time, and patience

I'm sure everyone here is hoping for your success. It'll be nice when the puzzle is solved with these guys.

It's good to hear that someone is working with this species and making some headway. Good luck next year!
