Tumtum03 Jun 17, 2004 02:28 PM

I just came home today and my 3 month old female is having seizures left and rigth, she can't even move with out doing a back flip. Does anyone know what could be wrong with her? She has been fine up until now, eating great, great weight, good size, I don't know what to do with her? If you have any advice please let me know!!!! Thank you

What do you feed her?

How often do you feed her?

What kind and how often do you supplement (calcium, etc)?

Do you have UVB lighting?

For starters provide this info and any additional info you can and we may be able to help.

I feed her crickets everyday, veggies, and pellets. She is in a 20 gal long, there is a piece of drift wood for her to bask under the light, no more then 6 in off the ground at the highest point! She gets her cal and vitamins everyother day, multi once every two weeks.

And she does have UVB lighting always has, and I just got a new bulb 2 weeks ago!

Okay, are the crix no bigger than the space between her eyes?

Also, what kind of substrate is she on?

I'd get her to a vet ASAP like Shawn suggested too. In fact I should have had that in my original post.

Can also cause seizures. Even though you are doing everything right, maybe your beardie isn't processing it correctly. How many dusted crickets does it eat at a time?
If this is the case, your vet can give him a calcium shot.

At that age I would guess that impaction would be the cause, or at least the first thing to rule out. What have you been feeding her and how big, what substrate is she on? When impaction occurs in beardies it puts pressure on the spinal column causing all kinds of neurological problems, including paralasis, seisures, etc. and can be fatal if not treated. If it's seizing already, chances are probably not that great but I would get it to a vet NOW...

Parasites don't cause seizing that I'm aware of...
