Going on Vacation for 2 weeks, leaving the snake at home. Any suggestions. I'm using a plastic halloween caldron for his water bowl if I can't get the new cage livable by next Friday. Still haven't found something to cover the flexwatt with. I've been told expanded PVC but that's not something you can go next door and find. I also need to know in idiot terms, what type of riostat to hook up to the flexwatt and thermostat. I'm thinking of leaving the flexwatt out until I come home and can monitor same for a few days. He hasn't eaten in about 2 weeks and just recently laid out a nice spread so he's empty, don't need to worry about poop! I'll feed him plenty the day I leave.

Whatcha know?!

I get nervous having lots of things plugged in a running when Im not home. Fire hazard and all. I actually unplug all the heating elements, give plenty of water and a nice hidebox. Ill crank up the furnace to the desired temperature around 88 degrees and leave it at that. No fire hazards, no burned out bulbs or malfunctioning cheap thermostats that can cook your snake while you are gone. The only drawback is that it limits your snake's ability to thermoregulate but if you feed it real good before you leave, it wont want to find cooler temperatures.
