Back in April/early May, I saved a bunch of tadpoles from a lonely puddle! (About 50), Well, this morning I have 3 froglets, or toadlets. They are in a rubbermaid bin with about 2 -3" of water with several stones in the middle so they can climb out. I feed them boiled spinach, or "tadpole bites".
First question, any way of distinguishing if I got toads or frogs at this early age?
Second, I will be letting them go, but of course I want to keep 2 of them for now, for observation purposes, (and to hope that they are frogs, not toads!). Is there a safe age to do this? I have many tree frogs myself, so I know the upkeep, just wondering how long I should leave the froglets in with the tadpoles, and when I do put them temporarily in a small tank, should I just leave enough water in a large cap or bowl, just enough for them to get wet?
