identify a tort

im helping one of my friends in the UK id this tortoise she has had for two years. its not a native tort, and is about 100 years old when they traced it back to people who have keept it before.
I think it looks like a Gopher tort, but am not sure can anyone help id this guy?

That is one rough looking Hermans that has the appearence of being to hell and back and then again.
Outside of the rough appearence it is in beautiful shape if you discount the foreign animal damage.

Looks like Herman ran over it with the lawnmower too.

nah not the lawn mower, it was a dog that got ahold of him a few years back.
