curious about substrate

Cresty_C Jun 17, 2004 07:55 PM

my toad is in the process of shedding as i type this and it made me wonder....as he eats his shed he is also eating the peat moss/coconut husk or whatever it is. he is 6 yrs old now, raised him from an egg, and hes going great, so is it harmless to him to eat it? im sure they would in the wild? not many messages posted on the toad forum so thats why i am here. substrate and im paction are a touchy subject with most lizards but i never really thought about it with my toad.

most of the bed-a-beast and generic brands are harmless if injested, it usually says on the label. good luck
