Copperhead Feeding? Please Help.

SlipKorn Jun 17, 2004 09:20 PM

I've been keeping Copperheads for a few years and I have never had a problem getting them to feed for me. I caught a pair about a month ago(1 male 1 female). I have not had any luck with feeding them yet. I have tried live and dead mice but no luck with anything yet. Does anyone have any tips on getting them to start feeding. Thanks.

depeneding on where they were caught i would try frogs or lizards ..that most likely was its main diet in the wild.

well.. i had a similar problem with my wild caught copperheads..

they wouldnt eat live mice..

so i fed them dead ones, and the trick was putting it in the hide box, and leaving them alone (going in another room)

maybe you already tried that, but thats what did it for me

best
