Not feeding?

We're currently having a heat wave here, and the coolest I can get my house is 85 F. Two of my females who laid eggs several months back have quit eating. Both ate well after laying eggs, and both have shed about 4 days ago. One is gaining weight, the other is not. Neither is interested in any type of food. I tried thawed mice, rat pups, and bonked live mice-no response. The skinny one is always trying to get out of her setup, the other is content to just sit.

Could this be due to the heatwave? All my other corns are eating like normal. If the skinny one doesn't eat next week, I'm going to start tubefeeding her. I'd much rather she ate on her own, personally.

More then likely your corns are getting ready to lay a second clutch of eggs! If they both just shed 4 days ago, you need to get a nest box in there ASAP, they should be laying within the week! Even if they did not have a reintroduction with a male they will still lay a second clutch if they had adequate food supply and had plenty of body weight. I do not think that the heat has anything to do with it, but if you have any lights on I would turn them off inside the cage to reduce the heat and an afternoon misting will help lower the temps in the cage. But I would think that your snakes are double clutching and if you force feed them you may end up with egg bound snakes and broken eggs inside them. Give them a week or 10 days with a nest box and wait for your surprise.

Neither of them have any eggs, though-at least none that can be felt or seen. Both are still thin from laying, one of them has not gained any weight back from laying, which bothers me.
