How big should superworms be?

bmills Jun 19, 2003 04:54 PM

I found some superworms, 1000 for $14. How big should they be? They say they are 2 inches. Is that to big. And is that a good price? The site is reptilefood.com.

I found another site for the same money, but you can choose between large, medium, and small supers? What would you suggest?

I just received my order of superworms from the Wormman and they are in excellent condition. They are about half again as big as large mealworms. RR

...I forgot to add that I ordered the 'small' superworms. RR

I feed the big'uns 1.5 to 2 inches to my adults and they love them and get nice and fat on them. That is a good price. I get 1000 at a time and keep them in a chick feed with slices of potato, carrot, apple or such for water. They do good in a rubbermaid tub.

Yup thats what would be considered "adult" sized supers. Also thats a good price. If you wanted you could even start your own colony of supers with that. I breed my own :-] and feel free to ask any questions

How would I go about breeding them and starting my own colony? I have l heard that supers are much more healthy than mealies, and my 2 adults love anything that movies, although my albino won't eat crix, but she will eat worms, and my normal will eat anything that moves, and I know supers move around a lot more than mealies. I appreciate your help and advice.
