Could an adult male ally be housed comfortably in a 300 gallon stock tank?

What size.
They could be anywhere from 30 pounds to 150.

It's the females who get 30lbs.
I'm talking about an adult male.

One of my females is bigger tyhan 30 by a lot.
But yeah, you could keep a male in a 300 gallon. In general , give them as much space as you can provide.

I actually have my big male in a horse trough.
It was pretty cheap at a fasrm supply.
10 feet long, 4 feet wide.
He has a lot of room in there.

I think its better than what some of my friends have.
Rubbermaid makes round ones that are great for a big snapper.
Plenty of room. Just couldn't get it in my basement.
I think those are 300pounds.

how many gallons is your horse trough?

MikeST Jun 23, 2004 08:24 AM

I'm pretty sure its about 400.
Not positive though.

I also have one thats 8' x 36"
I think I paid about $90 for that one on sale.

They bothe leaked when i first got them.
Silicone the bottom seam and wait a couple days and they're fine.
