Couple of Peanut Butter brooksi hatched this morning (pics)

bluerosy Jun 18, 2004 11:24 AM

I was so excited to see the first Peanut Butter brooksi hatch out this year I had to snap pics and post them before the rest of the clutch hatches out.
Pictured are both males out of a small 4 egg clutch. One is a Peanut Butter male and the other a het male. I will post pics of the remaining two eggs when they hatch.

In the past 3 years of breeding the PB's all PB's have been males. This may be a sex linked trait however female hets tend to come out lighter in color than male hets. I will be posting more info and pics to determine this unusual trait.

Did that peanut butter hatchling eat already? It sure is fat looking.

No, the male did not eat yet. I took the pic moments after he hatched. I am leaving a pinky in the shoebox overnight to see if they will eat. The other two are still in their eggs.
