Haven't we warned you about tampering with the structure of a chaotic system?

The closest I found was a sterilite but it had a lip at the handle, which would make it hard to slide the tub in and out of the rack.

hmmm, maybe another brand carried by KMart/Big Lots. I have a friend who just built a rack with tubs from Big Lots. Key is gettng enough the first time for a whole rack, as sometimes they only have something once.

These are the links to the pans we use in our racks. We built wooden tops and are still using them on a generic shelving system.

http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/product.asp?catalog_name=USPlastic&category_name=Boxes&product_id=High Density Polyethylene Pans

also we use these:

https://www.consolidatedplastics.com/acbnew/webpage.cfm?WebPage_ID=9&DID=14&PID=42218&CATID=4396&disclist=635509,635510,635511,635512

They are much cheaper in the long run. They last years and stack in each other.

Upon receiving a tip from a local rat breeder, I purchased mine from Home Depot. I believe they are designed as cement mixing trays and only run about $5 each. You should be able to find them over by the cement/concrete products. They are the perfect size for breeding groups of rats.

Just go to homedepot.com and search for concrete, then click on the link for Mixing Tubs and Pans. I think I used the smallest size, but I can't remember for sure.

For mice, I just use Rubbermaid trays. I believe they are designed for use as kitty litter pans.

Good Luck!
