First Rear-Fang Snake

mantafish Jun 18, 2004 12:40 PM

I just wanted to know what kind of Rear-Fang snake would be good to start on.
I currently have four eastern hognose and a couple boas pythons and many tarantulas.
I was torn between the mangrove/cateye snakes and false water cobra. Any info is great.
Thanks...JT

Of the two I would go for the FWC (unless the Mangove was a visably proven feeder and that would push me into those).

FWC's are hard to kill and need less room than an adult Mangrove as they are not a inclined to climb.

Both are great snakes and I keep both. Sorry I can't be more help in your decision. Flip a coin?

That was great. I did not think of mangroves as being picky eaters
but I have heard quite alot about the feeding habits of FWC.
Thanks!
