Mad Rancher Runs Amuck on 277 !

snakecatcher63 Jun 18, 2004 12:57 PM

This is a warning for all collectors who hunt 277. There is a young rancher who is also a drunk causing some serious problems up on 277 especially around Loma Alto. He drives a white full size pickup truck. He apparently, along with several of his low life rancher buddies, confronted Shawn Lund and his wife and children in the parking lot at Loma Alto with guns in hand. He has also follwed at very close range others while they spotted cuts. Wednesday night he actually hit a collector while trying to cut closely in front of him. My understanding is that Duckman emptied a clip at him before he got out of range leaving numerous holes in the rear end of his truck !!! Go Duckman !
WE NEED TO GET THIS GUYS LICENSE PLATE NUMBER !!!! If you have any incidents with this idiot - HE IS ARMED AND WILL SHOW YOU. The Val Verde Sheriffs department will not take any action until either we get his plate number of leave his carcass along the road for clean up ! Be VERY CAREFUL - this guy is armed and usually drunk !

Keep in mind that Border Patrol is going to usually be the closest Law Enforcement to you on 277. Don't hesitate to use your cell to call them if you need assistance. Just advise them what is going on and the firearms are involved.
If it is true that "duckman" fired some rounds at this guy then, Val Verde Co. has no choice than to get involved. They should be made aware of this ASAP.
If this guy hit another car with his vehicle intentionally, then he can be charged with "Assault with a Deadly Weapon" under Texas Law. Also if he approached anyone outside of his own property with gun in hand in a threatening manner then he can also be charged with "Assault with a Deadly Weapon". If anyone has experienced these things, then you should advise Val Verde County S.O. immediately.

Isn't there a law (felony I believe) concerning the harassment of hunters?
