2004 Cinnamon Pastels!

Camlon Reptiles Jun 18, 2004 01:18 PM

Yeah! We finally proved out our Cinnamon Pastel male, and hatched our first clutch for 2004 at the same time. It was looking dim earlier this season when the first of several clutches were slugs, infertile eggs and eggs that wnet bad in the incubator, but yesterday we got some help from what "Ralph" calls the Ball Python Gods. Thank you very much! We will post more photos after they shed.

Congratulations!! It is great to see the male proved out for you. How many cinnamon's were produced? Good luck with all your other clutches.

What makes them cinnamon pastels?
I have seen a lot of variaton with these.
Not to sound rude, but that snake does not look so great.
I am sure they look much better in person.
I have seen the pewters produced when bred with a pastel and heard rumers of cinnamons producing cool morphs when bred to eachother.
Do you think this line will prove to be just as promising as others?
Again, I am not trying to put them down, but from the pics I have a hard time finding unique $10,000-$15,000 characteristics that make them stand out from several normals I have seen here and there, as well as a few snakes in my collection.
Please let me know what to look for?
Thanks and congradulations.
Evan

Your right they do look much better in person, and after they shed we will post more photos of them. As far as what makes them Cinnamon Pastels I will post a photo of the father, and say that they have the same coloration as other lines of Cinnamon hatchlings with the completely clear bellies and cinnamon coloration on the sides.

As for morphs I believe these animals have an unlimited potential when bred together to produce a Super, and when bred into other morphs to produce animals like the "Pewter Pastels"...

As for this line proving out to be as good, well time will tell as our original male has changed dramatically since we acquired him to this day. He was actually Cinnamon colored (as can be seen in the photo below) when we got him, and now he has darkened and shows the almost completely brown head with the limited striping that Cinnamon Pastels develop as they age. We have also had several breeders look at him (our breeder male), and were told he was a Cinnamon Pastel by them.

The one pictured on your site is sweet. We are assuming he is the sire to the breeding? Nice snake..
