i was just thinking, that since i breed silkies for my leos, could i give them to the beardie as the staple diet. that is of course with veggies. basicly im asking, could i replace crickets with the silkies, and give the crickets once in a while, like i would normaly do with silkies.

I am in the process of phasing out crickets also, and I'm beggining to breed silkworms instead. From what I've read, they are a good staple for beardies, chameleons, leos (these are the reptiles I currently keep), and my beardies love them. I think they get a lot more moisture this way too. My dragons will run the length of their cage to get one, so you could even say they promote exercise Just keep up with the veggies like you said.

I think silkies are as good if not a better staple than gut loaded crickets. They are very nutritious for beardies. If I could afford it I'd use only silkies as well.
