Nightcrawlers?

I just recently got a Bearded dragon and was wondering if it would be alright if it ate nightcrawlers?

I may be wrong but I think they are too high in fat and can easily carry parasites.

Your better off with gutloaded crickets or silkworms for a staple insect, and of course daily salads.
