Getting a pair of baby beardies tomorrow...

Nightshade Jun 18, 2004 09:12 PM

Got everything set up for them. I have books on care etc., but wonder how difficult it is to keep these guy on pellets and salads only? I hate dealing with crickets, don't know much about silkies (I'm an old school snake keeper), and would just prefer to go with pellets if I can.

Any help would be most appreciated!

without feeder bugs, the obstacle you have is variety. young BD, under 6 monhs can be stoborn and hard to convert to pellets and keep on a non bug diet. you must offer variety. if your BD gets ppicky and refuses food you must be careful it does not go too long and you must keep him hydrated. I hope you bought your BD from someone like me or Lisa who already has her BDs eating pellets so you dont have to convert them.

good luck
