I personally have never seen it before and kinda wish I hadn't. That is truly horrible.
Barring the excuse of malfunctioning elctronics (not much someone could do about that) I would hope that the owner was slapped several times with a big stick.
Those injuries were not caused by malfunctioning electronics~ but by leaving a live rat unattended in the cage with the snake~ probably for much longer than just one night. The rat seems to have had quite a bit of snake to eat.

caused by a moron feeding live.......I've been feeding my bps live since day 1 for 4 years....(other keepers even longer)....and out of the countless number of feedings, I've had one female take a bite from a rodent.....a minimal bite at that. A couple treatments of neosporin and one shed.....can't even see it today..no scarring.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with feeding live....the risk is over exaggerated..(imo)....as long as you (the responsible keeper) are smart enough not to leave an unattended rodent with the snake...plus make sure the rodent is not too large for the snake to overpower......should be no problems.
As a matter of fact....just got done feeding....again A-OK!
Just my .02
exactly how i feel also, moron leaving it in overnight. im think im going to feed live for mine but i will FOR SURE thunk them when he starts eating hoppers and up.
