Ugly Ducklings

jcherry Jun 19, 2004 05:02 AM

Every year when the deppei deppei start hatching I understand why folks did not bring many of them in on the mexican permits years ago. To start out as blase as they do, they really are the ugly ducklings of the pit. world. These are the first out of the eggs for the year of the limburg strains.

Enjoy the bad pics,

I've heard where guys with the Mexican permits would just step around or over deppei deppei and leave them in Mexico. They would even mention the fact no one would want a drab looking snake like that. I hate to imagine what they are thinking now. Nice deppei John and thanks for sharing pics of them hatching.

Great photo, John,

Congratulations on that clutch! Now, which one is mine??
I have to agree though, it is an absolute shame these guys went to the wayside while Mexican permits were still available. Of course, I can say that for a number of species from Mexico! I guess hindsight really is 20/20..
