It's excellent stuff. It does sink so turtles can really get at it. It is balanced and has great ingredients to make it a nice staple diet for aquatic turtles. I have had over 8 species feed on it most of them being domestics. The only down side of the yummies are the orange coloring in the food can tinge the water if you don't have excellent filtration. We have been using it for some time and sell it as well. Feel free to check out our web site on the Ectotherm page. If you have any other questions about the stuff just ask. Oh by the way, I have had great sucess using it to feed frog tadpoles. Attached is a pic of some Cuban frog tads minching on the stuff. Mike B

you use this one food as a complete diet?? no greens... no fruits... no nothing else??? is that enough for a turtle??? will you feed this food to the turtle for it's whole life.... no other types of veggies or fruits or foods? I'm sorry that I am asking so many questions... i am just surprised that someone would actually say they use an off the counter food as a complete diet... i would think that NOTHING beats the actual veggies/greens fresh from the garden. just wondering...

It's not something I use 100% at all. I have too many turtles to make it economical to use it entirely. I do feed my RES and other turtles a varied diet including fish, shrimp, trout chows, crickets, mealies, greens, water hyacynth, water lettace, etc.... Come to think about it, my turtles get a better balanced diet than I do. My RES are kept in a 600 gallon pond with natural sunlight for best possible UVB rays. I have used and sell Ectotherm products as I believe in them. Here is a short list of ingedients in the Ectotherm Turtle yummies.... First off water good ole H2O, it is a moist diet unlike most other turtle diets, Fish (what turtle food is any good without fish), Carrot, Celery, Beets, Poultry, Parsley, Watercress, Bone (calcium CaCO3), Dandelions, Alfalfa, Egg (raw protien), Blood, Kelp, Crab, Carageenan, to name a few, Ectotherm Aquatic Turtle yummies also contain 38 minerals and ammino acids turtles need. I just like to promote it as an excellent all around food item as by the list of ingrediants you see it takes in consideration everything you mentioned above! Mike B.

wow-what a coincidence! i actually have some cuban tree frog tadpoles. they are in a kiddie pool outside and i dont feed them, but once i get this stuff-i will drop one in!
well-i am not usually successful in getting my turtle to eat vegetables so i tried to find a food with a higher veggie content. what veggies should i be feeding him and how can i get him to eat them?
i went to a herp show this weekend and got another slider to go with mine and the guy i bought him from said he fed all of his turtles only reptomin. i know thats probably not the best idea and he didnt look that professional anyways...
once a week, i put him out in our pond and let him swim around for a day (while im out there with him) and he did try to eat a leaf the other day...
