I am in need of suggestions! Our previously healthy, vigorous, good natured Cal Kingsnake is in distress. He (we don’t really know it’s sex and he was captive born) has spent most of the past week at the top of his cage, not unusual, but it is unusual that he was not hungry this week. The snake is young - 10 months or so and does enjoy his meals. My daughter, who cares for it, returned home yesterday and mentioned that he appeared ready to shed. Today she called me at work concerned about strange appearing BMs. There was also what appeared to be a pink stain on the snake’s vent. Some of the BM was stained pink as well. I asked her to put him to soak, which she did. He is definitely lethargic. He's in a 10 gal tank with Bed A Beast as a substrate, lights, a water dish, under tank heater (which is currently off). Mid temp range is 84 deg. The bedding is dry and he usually soaks himself and that is where the BM was found. It looked as though his last meal was not completely digested. He is fed only thawed pinkies. There are no herp vets within a hundred miles of us, and it's Saturday, so we're pretty much on our own until next week. Any recommendations or insights will be greatly appreciated.
