question on supplements and females???

Chameleon996 Jun 19, 2004 07:21 PM

I use Herpcare cricket dust for all my lizards. I think this is where I went wrong. My last female got mbd when she started making her first eggs. I am almost certain it's because I wasn't giving her the right supplements. I don't want to make that mistake again. Both of my chams have Capture The Sun mercury bulbs. I also try to get them outside when I can. My chams are the ones that need the supplements the most. The beardie and Helmeted Iguanas don't depend on them so much.

I know supplements can be confusing with all the different vitamins and such, but if someone could steer me in the right direction I would appriciate it.

have you considered feeding more butterworms and silkworms? they are both high in calcium and this way they get the cal. naturally. Luna loves her butterworms so they are a regular part of her diet. I dust once a week with Repcal Cal/D3. Luna is one year old, never bred and recently laid an infertile clutch of 42 eggs. She is doing great.

just my input
