Too much humidity?

thebigmacattack Jun 19, 2004 11:54 PM

my tanks walls are completely covered with myst and water drops. my sensor displays its highest value, "HI", which i know is over 80%. Is it possible to have too much humidity in a tank?

Yes, too much humidity can cause jungle rot, and is a good way to grow bacteria and mold. You need to increase the air circulation in your tank, either by adding a computer fan or extra vents. How are you producing all this humidity? I used a humidifier and I had a timer so it would only run for a short period of time every hour.

Yea, I do the same thing, I hav emy humidifier run 2-3 times a day, and i have to change the water every week, but its 50 cents for a gallon of distilled water. Works good the lowest it gets is 60-70, the highest is 90. And the humidty outside here is less then 10 lol. I dont have a problem with mold though or anything, try the venting too, i honestly dont have fans, but I have lots of cacks around my doors, and I hav eholes in teh top, so its not like the air is trapped.
