Purchasing Chams On-Line

littlerooster Jun 20, 2004 06:00 AM

Has anyone out there ever used "Raging Reptiles" to purchase Chams on-line?? If so, would you recommend them to others? I'm really interested in the Seaside Sunburst Veiled, but have never tried purchasing herps over the internet. Any words of wisdom from you well seasoned herpers??

Current Herps:
1 Arg. B&W Tegu
1 "Regular" Veiled Cham.
1 Ca. King Snake

Heya

I bought a Veiled from Reptilemax online and he came in perfect shape, the only problem i had was with fedex had a plane break down so i got him a day late but he is doing great.

Thanks for your reply, Trolly! Boy, do they always ship them that small?? They look so frail and breakable! Could you, please, clue me into what to feed these little guys?? The Veiled I currently have was already about a year old when I got him, and I've never had experience with the wee ones.

Yeah

Mine is eating gutloaded pinhead crickets and small silk worms.

Thanks for the info Trolly. Basically the same diet I feed my y.o., just size appropriate. Are there any special requirements when it comes to temp (ambiant & basking) or UV? I've only had my Veiled for about 6 months and I've always heard they are a bit more difficult to care for, so I think I may need to get a little more experience under my belt before I acquire such a young one. I don't want to rush into it, only to cause it harm. Although, the one I have now actually seems healthier than when I first got him from his previous "care giver".
