Rubbermaid size?

msubigdawg Jun 20, 2004 10:09 AM

I am thinking of getting a carpet python. I don't have a lot of room so I figured a rubbermaid enclosure would be the best on saving room space. What size rubbermaid would hold a carpet python through life? Also are there any humidity issues with carpet pythons?

Depends on which carpet. Let us know which subspecies you are thinking about getting and we can give you cage sizes that have worked for us.

I am thinking a Jungle Carpet. I don't plan to keep it there for life I just need to know how long it can stay in one.

Since this post is the same as the one for the 'Dumeril and Boa' forums, I figured here is just as good a place as any to say that snakes of these nature can't be housed in a rubbermaid as an adult. They get too big.

I suggest a Ball Python, Children's Python, Spotted Python or Corn Snake. And as adults, these would require some of the biggest tubs you can find.

I am not going to keep it in there for life. I just need to know how long it can stay in a rubbermaid. Then after a while I will build an enclosure.

There is a pretty big one on this site.

A jungle carpet could live in it for almost 2years if you get the largest available.

Good luck (and do your research!)
