Oatmeal is very convinient in this sense. You can use it as bedding and gutload. In terms of "properly" it depends on your definition. There is a variety of gutload formulas out there that include the basic vitamins and minerals. If you wish, you can mix the worms a salad of fruits and vegies or simply buy one of those diets. My recommendation is to go to the store and see what ingridients they have in them and go from there.
