I had never offered my geckos pinkies until one day I accidentally ended up with a pinkie instead of an adult mouse for my python, so I offered it to the leos rather than letting it go to waste. The females didn't look interested until the male grabbed it by the body. Then one of the females ran over and grabbed it by the head and tried to take it from the male. The male(bossman)ended up winning. It was quite a gruesome sight. Personally I'd rather not feed pinkies unnecessarily, but if you really need to fatten up your breeding females, try getting them to observe your male eating one. It seemed to trigger something in mine.
