How long to wait before handling?

TheBigMacAttack Jun 20, 2004 12:43 PM

i got a cwd yesterday, and its maybe 12 inches at max, total length. he really does not want to be handled... i am wondering about how long people wait to handle their dragons? He is said to be captive bred, and when i got him he was apparently asleep and didnt seem to care about being moved around (infact, at the time, he appeared almost dead). however, it is now a different story, and he is essentially a green flash.
Also, do young dragons only tend to eat leggy insects? i have showed him some worms and other things, and he is sort of curious, but not for very long.

Baby dragons are very flighty, give him at least a week to settle in, and don't expect him to be tame right away. It takes a lot of patience and gentle handling to make them friendly. Mine ate a lot of crickets as babies, but I don't remember them turning down waxworms or mealies. As long as things are moving they usually take them.
