URGENT: EYES WON'T OPEN...

turtle_22 Jun 20, 2004 02:27 PM

The female box turtle wasn't able to open her eyes at all yesterday or today.
I gave her eye droplets, twice yesterday, and really the eyelids are not swollen at all. Maybe they are bound to be sinking in soon?! I don't know.
So when I put her in the water to soak again today, she opened up her mouth a few times...as if to vomit & some clear mucus did come out one time. At the same time, a bit of poo as well...that was clear because and I could see a perfect corn morsel in that...no brown stuff though.
Extremely sluggish unless I pick her up for a while and then she'll start struggling & using her muscle tone.
Sound familiar to anyone? What can I do? She ate happily & healthily for the past 2 weeks that I have owned her.
And so far I've feed, fruits, corn, canned dog food, & worms.

Please help! I want to cure the condition!

Trying to treat her when you don't know what's wrong with her is risky at best.
