Moss bedding in shelters?

ribbitt Jun 20, 2004 03:08 PM

So....is the moist moss thing in the shelters really important?(I know humidity is good for shedding) And if so, what type is best because I just put some moist Green Moss into my leo's bigger shelter and they wont go in it! They only go in the small, dry one so far. Should I take out the new moss? And what is the best temp. to keep on the warm side of the cage? Thanks!

You can use sphagnum moss or green moss and also peat moss, that stuff looks like dirt. I use the peat moss mixed with vermiculite in my egg laying chambers and I use moist paper towels in my humid hides.

Keep the humid hide on the warm end of the tank, and mist the hide daily.
