UVB lighting in a small terrariums

Nykole Jun 20, 2004 04:35 PM

Hi, Im new to beardies. I have been researching for months and in about 2-3 weeks Ill be bringing my little one home. When I bring the baby beardie home it will be going in a 10 gallon tank and I was wondering about the UVB lighting. I really want to use a PowerSun UVB Heat Bulb (Seen it highly recommended on a few caresheets because I was just going to use a fluorescent) but it isnt for use on small terrariums. Would it be possible for me to position the bulb far enough away so the basking area doesnt get too hot? Or is there another reason it cant be used in small tanks? I do have a 65 gallon habitat waiting when the baby is big enough also.
Thanks for your help,
Nykole

I use Reptisun 5.0 and it works fine on terrariums of all sizes.
